Eliane Ubalijoro is an expert in innovation in global health and agriculture, and is also an adjunct professor of practice for public-private sector partnerships at McGill University's Centre for Developing-Area Studies. She is a member of Rwanda’s Presidential Advisory Council. Eliane has experience in biotechnology consulting. In the past, she has successfully coordinated an $8 million Canadian Foundation for Innovation grant on Plant Productivity led by McGill University as well as helped coordinate the establishment of McGill’s Network for Innovation in Biofuels and Bioproducts. Eliane is involved in various capacity building initiatives to harness the bioeconomy for Africa and is a co-inventor on 6 patent pending technologies related to molecular diagnostics of food borne pathogens. Eliane also has substantial practical experience as she was Scientific Research and Development Director for 5 years in a Montreal-based biotechnology company prior to her career at McGill.
